Components in computers

Modern day computers are made up of a variety of components with a host of abbreviations. It’s hard to keep up with the meaning of all those. We will try to describe som of them, but there will be sources that keep up with the changes, whereas we do not strive for that.

When one steps back far enough, every computer so far can be described at low level using the “von Neumann” architecture. This will be one of the subjects of this part of the website.
