In this page I will explain the inner workings of computers, guided by the work of John Von Neumann. He was a Hungarian-American who lived from 1903 – 1957, and made contributions in a number of fields. Amongst other things, in 1945 he described the Von Neumann Architecture that brings down a computer to it’s most elementary parts. It is this model I will use trying to explain how modern digital computers work.
