Finally got it to work
After much fiddling and trying out different libraries I finally had a bright moment and reverted back to the library that has been specifically made for this GPS module by Velleman… Duh…
That worked, also after some tweaking of the wires for the software serial connection between the Arduino and the GPS module.
To the right you can see the prototype on the bench.

The result on the screens
And below, there’s a picture of the screens. The location on the top screen is from the satallite, as are the date and (UTC) time on the bottom screen. So far, I’m happy with this.
